The game of Golf requires Strength, Endurance and Flexibility. These are the three physical characteristics that make for an excellent round of golf.
Golf Pros often advise Players to perform simple exercises to help them maintain their physical fitness. A little weight lifting, some stretching, rowing, etc. These are the exercises that can strengthen the ankle muscles for greater support throughout your golf swing.
However, you can only go so far with exercise. In fact, your exercise routine can likewise be adversely affected if you don't eat the correct food. Ask your self this question, why do you fill up your Car's fuel tank with Super Unleaded petrol? Answer, to make it run more efficiently, well, the same goes for your body. The correct food intake can mean the difference in whatever you do, and, your golf game is no exception.

Just like anyone else, golfers need to maintain a well-balanced diet. This however is different from the regular balanced diet we are all used to hearing about from friends and colleagues. The Golfers diet puts more emphasis on carbohydrates. In fact, it is highly recommended that those carbohydrates make up around 50 percent of their food intake. Those carbohydrates can be found in whole grains, pasta, breads, fruits and vegetables, and low fat dairy products. Carbohydrates give the body its much-needed energy for physical activity. What's more, it helps burn fat more efficiently.
Protein is yet another dietary requirement that the Golfer needs. Proteins can be found in Beef, Chicken, Fish, and Beans. Protein is useful for regulating body processes and hormones. Moreover, it strengthens muscles, and repairs any damage cased by sprains, etc.
Then there is fat. This should make up the least amount of calories in your diet. It provides energy for physical activity, and it can be had from butter, cheese, and most food products.
Fluids are the last part of a golfers' diet. To most people, fluids don't mean much. This isn't so for golfers. In fact, the Golfer needs a lot of fluid when he or she is out on the Golf Course. It is advised to drink at least one litre of water before leaving your home or office, this allows your body to absorb the fluid, and keep you from de-hydrating. It is also advised to continue with your intake of fluid on the course. Energy drinks are likewise an excellent way to replenish lost fluids due to lots of physical activity however; their high sugar content shouldn’t be ignored.
